Friends and Partners,
Bigger Manila is a social group for heavy-set men and their supporters. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization built to foster goodwill and camaraderie in the chub community in the Philippines and Filipino chubs and supporters in a global scale. It has lead various social activities that aimed to provide support and care for its members who are dealing with issues regarding health, self-discovery, relationships and discrimination.
In the past years, the focus of the organization has been on building a community that caters to the needs of its members. We have staged various social events and meaningful forums to help fulfill our vision strong brotherhood within our community. Together with our partners, we have been successful in all of our endeavors.
With our little victories, we can never be thankful enough for those who made it possible. It is because of this overwhelming support we get from our members and partners that we decided to celebrate our success, celebrate our future, celebrate LIFE.
Since 1992, Kythe Foundation has helped children who have cancer, especially the young ones. They also helped the parents and guardians how to handle having a child who’s battling this killer disease. In the past decade, Kythe Foundation has won various awards and citations like the "People Power People" Award
(Awarded by Former President Aquino last 2003), Accreditation from Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) and one of the Recipients of the TAYO Award (Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations)
Received by Kythe-Ateneo Organization last 2006. Although cancer has no known cure as of yet, Kythe Foundation has provided hope and happiness for each and every member they support. With everything that they have done for kids with cancer, we have decided to partner with them and give back to the community that has embraced us.
The Big Hope for Kids (Brothers In Giving Hope for Kythe Indigents and Dependents) is the pilot outreach initiative of the Big Brother Project, the outreach arm of Bigger Manila. This activity is a month-long fund raising and volunteerism work that aims to encourage Bigger Manila members to share their blessings in terms of time, financial assistance, talent and material donations to the needy kids of Kythe.
The pilot initiative of the Bigger Manila Big Brother project will benefit the kids supported by the Kythe Foundation. An outreach day is scheduled on November 27th, 2010 at the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon City. The beneficiaries are composed of cancer victims ranging from 3 to 18 years old, suffering from cancer of various types and severity.
The Big Hope for Kids Outreach Day is a designated day for the Big Brother volunteers to visit and attend to the beneficiaries of the project. During this day, there will be a fun party for the Kythe kids, gift giving and meaningful support interaction with 100 Kythe Kids and their families.
We cannot do it alone.
In line with our goal of celebrating life with these kids, we are humbly asking for your support. Your cash donations will help us feed the kids and their parents for one afternoon and hopefully provide food, toys, vitamins and supplements for kids, cough and common cold medicines for the kids, art materials and other helpful supplies that could help ease up the kids’ pain and suffering even for a short period of time. Proceeds of this fundraising effort will directly benefit the kids and their families.
Your gift of time and effort will also be highly appreciated so we are also inviting you to be with us as we celebrate life with the kids of Kythe.
We thank you in anticipation of your love and support to this great cause.
